First Guitar Lessons
Has a toy guitar sparked your child's imagination so much that they want to move on and learn to play the actual instrument?
Firstly congratulations! You may have a budding rocker on your hands or perhaps a classical genius? Rightly so then, you want to aid your child's musical and creative development with proffesional guitar lessons.
First things first, unless you are taking them to a music school you will need to get an actual instrument (they may be provided at certain establishments, though it is also useful to have one at home for practise.)
Look for a guitar that is the right size and not too big or small for your child. Generally we would recomend starting out on an acoustic and moving to an electric later on if desired.
Getting a child motivated about attending lessons can start at the home. Sit and spend time playing with them, learn with them and always encourage them to play for you. Give positive feedback afterwards.
Look for a good local music school or perhaps they have lessons at your child's school. Sometimes lessons will be in a group, sometimes one on one. Look around and ask other parents about good local teachers.
If our experience is anything to go by then your children can look forward to a lifetime of enjoyment through guitar playing and all the benefits that it brings.
