Types of Toy Guitar on the Market
So you have read all the benefits that a toy guitar can bring, but which toy guitar best suits your child's needs?
This can largely be down to age. Finding the best toy for the right age group is important as well as finding a good price. You want to make sure that the guitar toy is engaging and interesting.
Some are cheaper than others and you do usually get what you pay for. Though this is dependant on what you want from your child's toy. Is it just a fun toy to fuel their latest craze or is it to inspire them into playing music and boosting development?
The Iplay Rockin Riff's Guitar is aimed at young children. A bright and bold electric toy guitar it plays real guitar sounds at the touch of a button including an impressive eighteen premade songs which can be overlayed with four solo riffs! The coolest feature though is the applause button which in our experience your child will love playing with. Also has a tempo control knob and is for ages 3 and up.
The Rock 'N Play Guitar is certainly a cool looking axe that will have your child thinking they are a real rocker! In sleek black it also delivers on effects. It stores four demo tracks, three rythms and 16 solo tracks. A central lever for strumming and a wah wah sound effect complete this model. Recommended!
At the other end of the scale we have the Woodstock Kids’ Fantasy Guitar. Now this is a small scale actual instrument! Compared with "adult" guitars the build quality is not that great, however at around 20 dollars they are very cheap. Fun to strum your child will not be able to put it down. Beware though that strings may break and will have to be replaced to keep real guitars running. If you feel that the previous types are too young for your child then you should definately consider a small scale instrument like this one.
